Tridentine Missa Cantata (Sung Latin Mass)

in

Yesterday at 12pm I went to St Mary's Church in East Finchley for the Repose of Alisdair's Soul. I think that it has put (as Alisdair would say) closure on his death. I also think that he would have liked the Latin and ceremony of the Mass.

The chants were in Latin and some of the rest of the Service was in English. It was very beautiful and peaceful - paticularly the first chant Kyrie eleison. Luckily there was a translation, because I was terrible at Latin at school - although I surprised myself and understood most of it.

Afterwards we went back to my parents house where we talked, ate some food and had a couple of glasses of wine. My Mother had made a picture board of some photos from Alisdair's life and she also read out some of his poems and showed Ross a project book Alisdair made when we went to Tunisia.

Below is a picture of the Plum Cake that went down really well and also a photo of my Mother clearing up after the event.
