Ross gained his 5m Swimming Certificate yesterday. Angus and Ross are doing a swimming course this week and another one starting on 18 August. Ate my dinner, a chilli and brown rice combo and then I went for a swim in the Estuary or Sea as we call it with Angus and Ross.
I have now decided to try to swim until Christmas. I have been saying that ever since we moved down here (from Wimbledon) four years ago. BUT this year I am going to do it.
In my youth, I was a Life Guard at the London Central YMCA and also at an open air swimmning pool (Lido) in Finchley. At the Lido this old wrinkly guy told me that to swim all year round (he swam in Highgate Ponds) you must carrying on swimming throughout the summer and beyond. Because if you try to swim, say on Christmas day, you will do yourself a misdemeanour.
