Yesterday we went to the London Transport Museum in Covent Garden. We had a good couple of hours there – you don’t pay for kids under 16 which is a bonus. Then we went past St Paul’s Cathedral and across the Millennium Bridge and into the Tate Modern for a quick look around. Angus saw [...]

Last Saturday we went to the Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green. It was a good day out and the children really enjoyed it. Here are some photos of our time there.
Today we went to see the big man at Essex Wildlife Trust’s Langdon Visitor Centre. They have a preserved "plotlands" house from the 1940s which they theme into Father Christmas’ home in the North Pole. Anyway the children loved it, partly because they spent quite a long time with Father Christmas and asked him lots [...]

Today we visited Adventure Island, because we had some discounted tickets that we had bought from school and we wanted to use them before the end of the year – and also it was a fantastically glorious day.
Yesterday we went to Tropical Wings with St George’s Playgoup. There were about twenty of us all together and we went in a small coach. It was a good day and we saw a lot of animals from butterflies, giant tortoises and wallabies – the children particularly enjoyed the parrot and rat shows and playing [...]

We only bought some goats milk ice-cream for the children, it was delicious and extremely creamy, because we had been shopping the day before.  Mandy was lucky and finished Freya’s ice-cream. [...]

Last Sunday we all went on trip to Hanningfield Resevoir for the afternoon. The weather was perfect and we had lined up a 3½ mile walk, but because Ross was really tired we cut it short by about a mile. We spent a long time in all the bird hides and the boys really enjoyed [...]

We all went to Essex Wildlife Trust’s Langdon centre and the boys took part in a minibeast safari which they really enjoyed. Ross and Angus both enjoyed looking at the insects in the viewing equipment. After the session was over we all went foro a short walk to see the geese at the lake. We [...]
